Another one of our baseball buddies has left us. Bill Beckman lost his battle with liver cancer on Sunday, May 15, 2011.

Bill was a long time member of the Fresno Grizzlies, a pitcher, outfielder, power hitter, and sometimes manager.

He played one  tournament with the Antiques, in the 2009 Roy Hobbs World Series, 60+ division. He had a great tournament and was voted team MVP by his teammates.

He is missed, not forgotten.

  1. Just saw the note that Bill passed away. He played with us in Florida and was a great teammate and really helped us win a lot of games there. We missed him last year and will miss having him on the Antiques team in the future. Terry Gammill

  2. Bill Beckman and my father Bill Boxberger where co-workers and very good friends at Fresno Diaonostic Center. I went on several fishing and golfing with my father and Bill Beckman. Those where some great times! Where going to miss you BB.

    Sincerely,
    The Boxberger Family

  3. I knew Bill as a brother from the men’s baseball fraternity and from the various world series events and regional tournaments. We are all from a special cloth, and that is from our love of the greatest game on earth. See you in heaven brother. Rest well.
