Rough first day. 🙁 We lost to the Detroit 65s in game 1, 10-4. We didn’t play well defensively and didn’t hit. Clyde Jones pitched way better than the score indicates. He deserved better.

We lost to the Western Silver Foxes 5-4. They got 2 in the bottom of the first. We got one right back. Then we went ahead 3-2 in the third. We got out of 1st & 2nd nobody out in the bottom of the third. We got one more in he 4th. With a 4-2 lead, we got out of a bases loaded situation in the bottom of the 4th. We got out of a bases loaded nobody out jam in the 5th with a K, and a pickoff, and a popup. In the 7th, they scored a run and had runners on 1st & 2nd with nobody out and we turned a triple play when Gary Ewbank caught a line drive with both runners running, threw to Terry Gammill at 2nd, went to Lanny Ropke at 1st. We took that 4-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Again, we got into a bases loaded, no out jam. We got one force out at home, but then couldn’t make the play on the next one and two runs scored. Tough way to lose. Irv Scott pitched a great game. He also deserved better.

We play the Kent Mudhens on Tuesday morning at 10am. We need to turn it around!
