Phil Montes started on the mound and gave up an unearned run in the top of the first. He got that run back in the bottom by leading off with a base hit, stealing second, and scoring on Bob Levine’s base hit. We added two more via hits by Robin South and Denny Brown to load the bases. Cy Rogers’ fielder’s choice and Panos Lagos’ base hit drove in the runs.

The Foxes tied the game in the top of the third. Two walks and three hits did the damage. Mixed in, Phil struck out the side.

We matched their two in the bottom of the third. Angelo Crudale got hit by a pitch and Robin walked. They moved up on a wild pitch and were driven in via hits by Denny and Cy.

Again, we couldn’t get a shut down inning. The Foxes made the score 5-5 after some shaky Antiques defense put Phil in trouble.

In the top if the 5th, the Foxes took the lead, 7-5, with a walk and three singles.

This time, we answered right back with two of our own. Mike Tarens led off with a 15 foot single. Hiro Tarumi walked. Phil dropped a sacrifice bunt that he almost beat out. Then Angelo stroked a two-run double to tie the game at 7-7.

Nobody scored in the sixth, so the game went into the 7th still tied at 7-7. Phil gave up a one out walk. Denny relieved and got out of the inning on two pitches. The first guy popped up a bunt attempt that Zach Jones grabbed. The second guy hit a line drive up the middle that Phil snagged at shortstop.

George Esposito led off the winning rally in the bottom of the seventh with a base hit. Mike Tarens was hit by a pitch. Tony Finocchiaro walked to load the bases. Phil stroked a single to left to put us ahead by one. Then Angelo ripped another double to right center that scored all three runners. Bob, Robin, and Denny each singled to drive in Angelo and load the bases. Then Cy scorched one to their third baseman that almost turned into a triple play. We went into the 8th with a 5-run lead.

Denny gave up a run on 4 singles, but got out of the inning by getting a K with the bases loaded.

George coaxed a two out walk in the bottom of the 8th. Then Mike Tarens ripped one down the left field line for an RBI double. With Tony at bat, we hit the time limit, so the game ended 13-8.
