The 65+ Tribe opened their season with a win over the Antiques Blue, 16-7.

Phil Montes led off the game with a walk, stolen base, and then scored on Jim Kenney’s hit. The Tribe answered with a 4 run first.
Fred Baumgartner and Art White scored single runs leading off the second and third innings for the Blue. The Tribe scored another 4 in the second, though, to get out to an 8-3 lead after 3.
The Blue got back in the game in the top of the fifth. George Esposito, Art White, and Montes started the inning with singles. Kenney drove in another run, and the Antiques had cut the lead to 8-6.
We couldn’t hold them in the bottom of the inning, though. The Tribe put up a 6 spot to extend the lead to 14-6.
Randy Baumgardner stayed strong for all 8 innings to get the win for the Tribe.
