Zach Brown’s team, the Longview Cubs, representing southern Washington, is in the playoffs for the Pacific Northwest region of 15U Babe Ruth baseball.
The Cubs won their opener against Columbia Basin, representing northern Washington, 11-0. Zach took a no-hitter into the 6th inning, and lost it on a base hit to right with two outs.
The Cubs beat La Grande, representing northern Oregon, 18-7, in game 2.
On Saturday morning, the Cubs beat Klamath Falls, representing southern Oregon, 10-0. Their 3-0 record clinches the #1 seed in their division. The winner of Columbia Basin and La Grande, who play later Saturday, will be the #2 seed.
The host team from The Dalles is also 3-0 in the other division. Both teams have one more game in round robin play before the playoffs start on Sunday. The Cubs will play the #2 seed from the other division in one semi-final. The Dalles will pay the #2 seed from our division in the other semi. Championship game will be at 5pm Sunday.
