MSBL Kickoff: Antiques win 65+ division

The Antiques went 5-1 in the Las Vegas Kickoff Classic 65+ division to take home the trophy. We opened on Saturday with wins over the Ports (Santa Rosa) and the Phillies (Philly & Detroit). We lost on Sunday morning to the San Diego Mudcats, then beat the Avengers (Springfield, Ill.) On Monday, we beat the Ports again in the semi-finals….

Injury update

On last Thursday (6/25), my doctor removed my original cast and took out the stitches from my surgery. The incision has healed nicely. When it came time to install a new cast, I couldn’t decide between red (for the Antiques Red) or blue (for the Antiques Blue). Theresa offered to use both colors.

Post surgery update

My surgery yesterday went fine. The Dr. was surprised that the tear was worse than he expected. He was still able to do “plan A”, the type that should heal fully and quickly. I slept off the drugs in time to watch the Warriors game. I don’t have much pain. Just a bit of pain at the incision. I’m planning…

On Saturday, 6/6, I ruptured my Achilles tendon playing in the Antiques Blue vs. Seals game at Ygnacio Valley High. I went to John Muir’s ER in Concord for triage and got a splint  on the leg.
